Description
The plant originates from South and Central America and was brought to Europe by the Spaniards. The Spanish and Hungarian peppers are currently considered to be of the highest quality. It is used in meat dishes especially goulash, sauces, cheeses and smoked meats. Ground red peppers, also known as paprika, is an essential part of a whole selection of spice mixes to which it adds not only delicious tastes but also a distinctive red colour.
